Med Marine A.Ş. was incorporated in Istanbul, Turkey in 1983 as a specialized marine company to engage in the field of harbour/deep sea towage, pilotage, salvage/wreck removal, pollution prevention, ship escort and chartering. In addition Med Marine is involved in ship building, mainly IMO I&II chemical tankers and tugboats for which it exclusively employs Eregli Shipyard.

Med Marine is a member of European Tugowners Association since 1997, and a member of BIMCO since 2000. In addition, Med Marine was awarded ISO 9001 certification in January 2001 by BV. Moreover, in 2010, ISO 14001 : 2004 & OSHAS 18001 : 2007 certificates have been achieved.
