Med Marine and Svitzer Join Forces for State-of-the-Art Tugs
Med Marine is proud to announce a new partnership agreement with Svitzer, a global leader in towage and marine services. The two industry giants have recently signed a significant contract for the construction of two cutting-edge 28-meter, 85 TBP (bollard pull) tugs. The two tugs will be deployed in Greece, where Svitzer currently is setting its operation up to service Gastrade’s Alexandroupolis Independent Natural Gas System LNG terminal.
Svitzer's decision to acquire these two high-performance tugs from Med Marine underscores their unwavering commitment to enhancing harbour and terminal operations and ensuring the utmost safety in maritime activities. The MED-A2885 series tugs, are part of the esteemed RAstar 2800 series designed by the Canadian Naval Architect Robert Allan.
With a reputation for delivering top-tier vessels and maritime solutions, Med Marine is well-equipped to meet Svitzer's exacting standards and contribute to the safety of their operations. The delivery date is scheduled for the end of 2023.
